Today I went to Chapel Hill Bible Church with Karl, a church/family friend who I haven't seen since I was five. I remember him as being such a ladies man xD
Even though we were really young the last time we saw each other, we hit it off pretty well! Talked about med school, our professional goals, traveling we've done, college, our past...Karl's a very easy going guy and loves to laugh. Could definitely picture him as a future pediatrician!
I think the take-away that I got from today was the fact the God has perfect timing.
Before Karl picked me up for church, I got locked out of the balcony trying to get Truppy back in the house. I ended up jumping off of the 2nd floor ( thank God, no twisted ankle, no broken bones; only bruises and scrapes), and then Karl arrived just as I made it to the front door, so I was able to borrow his phone...and then after I hung up the phone on Kevin, the next door neighbors came back from their morning walk with their dog and they said that they might have an extra key from when the past resident lived here and also gave us the number of the possible real estate agent that sold the house (and flip flops that were the same size as my feet). After church, Karl gave me a boost onto the 2nd floor and we were able to jimmy the back door open with a credit card.
All in all, definitely a cool, spontaneous day. And I realized that, God does long to be gracious to you. That is where His glory best shines. Many times, we think that we're waiting on God, but in fact, He's waiting on us to acknowledge Him, to realize how much He loves us. And his timing, is always perfect:
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
Isaiah 30:18
