Days are somewhat starting to blend together - clinic in the morning, meetings/work in the afternoon, help Kevin review for class. It's been pretty tiring because I wake up early to catch the bus and sleep late 'cause I have to finish up work. The schedule this past Thursday/Friday was nice though - I didn't have to be at school until the afternoon.

There are mini-farmer's markets here in Southern Village!
When I got back on Thursday, I was surprised to find one on the street and I decided to take a look...

On Friday, we had a didatic session with 60 other UNC med students from another research program, but since I had to leave early, I didn't get a chance to meet with any of them. I also learned that the MSTAR program coordinator has a son who is a medical student at Dartmouth and is getting married next month and a nephew who is the lead guitarist for the Norah Jones Band. Isn't that awesome?
In the afternoon, I shadowed Dr Greganti who apparently is a big shot in Department of Medicine. When I was doing rounds the other day, the 3rd years were telling me that they never really mess with any of Greganti's patients who have been admitted to the hospital.
Here he is:
I think the most memorable incident on Friday was getting a ride home from a stranger. I know it sounds a little creepy but it was sunny/hot the whole day until 5pm-ish, when it started pouring cats and dogs, and this guy, a third year law student who was working in the Stark Law firm (haha Stark) on the 2nd floor offered to give me a ride when I mentioned that I had to wait for the bus. He was also wearing nice clothes so even though his car was out in the parking lot, he didn't want to risk getting wet. So we were able to chat a bit before we left.
Kevin and I went to Akai Hana for dinner and I totally overloaded on sushi.
{6.23.12}
Normal work day today - had too create excel sheets to organize medications. After dinner, Kevin and I decided to get some froyo at Tutti Frutti, which right in the middle of Southern Village.

I came across Big Bundts & More and bought some brownies for dessert. I also wanted to give Kevin a treat since he had a test the following day.

Truppy also had finished her prescription food and we went to Petsmart after dinner to buy more:
They didn't have it in stock at that location but apparently you have have an actual prescription to get this stuff. We assumed that you could grab it off the shelf since a lot of the same brands were just lying there but like I said, an actual prescription is needed. Truppy is so high maintenance! Her kitty litter also has to smell like lavender or else she just poops on the carpet. -_-

Tomorrow, I will be going to church with Karl's mom and Karl, two church/family friends that I haven't seen since I was 5. My mom got in touch with them because she remembered that Carrol had just finished his 2nd year of med school at UNC and his Boards. I'm always excited about re-meeting/catching up with people I haven't seen in a loonnnngg time =)
